Let’s Protect Our Way of Life
Shaun Scott is a radical with a track record of attacking our civic institutions. The events of June 2020 went beyond protesting. The Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) was a takeover of Cal Anderson Park and surrounding blocks of the city. In an extreme example of de-funding the police, the CHOP communards took over the East Precinct building. Radicals celebrated taking public spaces away from the rest of us. The Seattle City Council made progress today towards restoring livability in our city. My opponent Shaun Scott represents the faction advocating policies that have harmed our quality of life.

Defund has “fizzled to an end”, yet ideologues still hang onto the dream.
Shaun Scott is a police de-funder through and through. He is a leader in the “Abolition” movement. His statements do not hold up to today’s reality of public safety. I am the only candidate in this race committed to funding public safety.

Housing First is an expensive failure resulting in lost lives, increased addiction and crime.
People enduring homelessness and drug addiction are not the real problem. The problem is continuing failed public policies.

Keep the Tip Credit
Seattle’s tip credit is set to expire at the end of the year; when all businesses will be required to pay employees at least $19.97 an hour. The current tip credit allows employers to pay $17.25 an hour if the employee makes at least $2.72 an hour in tips. Restaurant owners are worried the twenty percent wage hike will squeeze already tight margins. I understand this and call for keeping the tip credit.
